Family and Consumer Sciences is a discipline that combines aspects of social and natural science, views the family in all its diverse forms as the cornerstone of a healthy society. Our mission is to improve the well-being of the family through programs that educate, influence public policy, and help families put research-based knowledge to work in their lives. The field represents many disciplines including consumer science, nutrition, food preparation, parenting, early childhood education, family economics and resource management, sexual education, human development, interior design, textiles, apparel design, as well as other related subjects.
Whether you pursue a degree in child & family studies, nutrition and dietetics, family & consumer sciences education, or apparel design & merchandising, you will learn through vibrant programs led by faculty who enjoy teaching.
