Degree Programs

Students are required to observe and/or interact with children in a number of couses offered by the Department. Therefore, students enrolled in CDF 235, 236, 246, 299, 327, 343, 344, 346, 351, 443, 450, 499, 541 and 544 must have a criminal record check and child abuse and neglect (CAN) check performed. Students with a criminal or CAN record may be required to drop the course and select another major.

Associate Degrees
This Associate Degree prepares graduates for entry-level positions. raduates may apply credits from courses completed in an associate degree program toward the requirements in the corresponding baccalaureate level major.

Early Childhood Development

Bachelor Degrees

These programs lead to either a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. Graduates qualify for a variety of positions in education, government, business, industry, and the military.

Master's Of Education-Family and Consumer Sciences Option


FCS Teaching Certification (Grades 5-12)


This program is designed to help individuals holding non-teaching baccalaureate degrees in nutrition and foods, family relationships and human development, apparel and textiles, housing and design, or family resource management acquire teacher certification for middle and high school. Secondary Education-FCS Option

This program is designed to help family and consumer sciences teachers achieve goals and develop advanced competencies in professional education, subject matter, and interpersonal relationships.
